Closure of the Vaginal Canal
-
What is it?
It is a procedure that, when performed surgically, achieves the reconstruction of the vaginal wall and introitus anatomically and functionally.
Without surgery, it reduces the size of the vaginal canal to improve friction during penetration and strengthen the vaginal muscles for better contraction.
It is a technique especially aimed at patients who have suffered inadequate vaginal reconstruction postpartum, trauma or cancer. -
Technique/Procedure
It can be performed on an outpatient basis in the office or operating room, alone or in addition to another procedure.
The technique is chosen according to the scar classification: atrophic (sunken), hypertrophic (raised and wide), or keloid (amorphous, hardened, dark with a clear vascular network). -
What is it for?

- Reconstructs the vagina.
- Optimizes friction during penetration.
